In the Embrace of a Cruel Fate

I refuse to believe the storm has passed—
What I believe is its fury still lashes at me,
Again and again, until I am numb with exhaustion.
I won’t fake a smile or wear calm like a mask,
I want to scream, wild and unchained, like madness itself.
Don’t approach me in the name of fate—
Pass that fate along to someone else,
Because I am done. I’ve had enough
